Our strategy

We have an unusually productive culture that fosters innovation, commercialisation and learning. We will nurture and develop this culture in all the ways we can.

Our history

The Salter Centre (formerly known as the Lothian School of Technology) was founded by Professor Stephen Salter – a brilliant engineering designer, fearless problem-solver, inspired craftsman, and peerless communicator. He was committed to training engineers and encouraging low-carbon technologies that can help bring the planet back to health.
