Ocean Cooling Technology’s mission is to help mitigate the detrimental effects of climate change on the communities and locations that need it most by deploying Marine Cloud Brightening.

Building on the pioneering work of Professor Stephen Salter, we are advancing innovative technologies inspired by his vision. We are researching different technologies that can increase the reflectivity of clouds over the ocean to reflect sunlight back into space. Our research focuses on microscopic salt particles that loft up to the clouds, brightening them. The clouds then reflect the sun’s heat away from the Earth.
